

Dana Irwin of Irwin Studios in Asheville, North Carolina has helped create New Mystery Magazine's most famous covers...including the cover you see on our homepage.
The veteran designer, illustrator and painter has established many excellent magazines, including HandMade, Mother Earth News, Northern California Infants To Teens and many others. She has designed for Avon Books, Hearst Magazines and Lark Books. She designs and illustrates fine trade books, CD-Rom Covers, Record Albums. Her paintings and photography have been included in shows in New York, San Francisco and throughout the South.
Her next cover for New Mystery is the special Sisters Crime issue.
Dana has worked closely with esteemed international artists to create the unique presence and identity of New Mystery Magazine. Dana has organized a stable of superstar painters, photographers and illustrators who bring each issue of the magazine in with a sizzle. Dana's cover artists include Robert McGinnis, Lucien Freud, Robert Crumb, Vincenso Giardino, Bettina Rheims, Carlos Sampayo, and others.
She has also discovered new talent and arranged debut appearances for the best new upstarts in painting, illustration, design and graphic arts. Miss Irwin has found several new talents, including Donald David, Beatrice Coron, Dallisson Darrow, Rupert Howard, Dieter and others.
The fine art photographers and the commercial photographers are treated with the same respect at New Mystery: Castro Band mixing with Bettina Rheims, Stanley Stellar, Bruce Mahaffee and Lloyd Ziff.
